The living room has over 50m2 and appears even more spacious thanks to the wooden roof. In the middle of the room there is a chimney with a woodburner with double-sided glass doors. The woodburner provides an extremely good output and the fire, which can be seen from both sides of the room makes a
delightful feature. Obviously there is underfloor heating and Santa Catarina tiles alternated with lovely little tiles in organic colours. There are cosy alcoves and wall lights around.
The bedroom in the main house is facing east, so awakening with the morning sun! There is a large wooden wardrobe with drawers underneath. The bathroom is directly situated next to the bedroom.
The living room is very large, it would be easy to create a
fourth bedroom, if required. The guest house contains two bedrooms, both with wooden wardrobes and south-facing windows.
The kitchen has an U shape. Working top is made of green granite and windows at two sides. A chimney with extractor keeps the cooking-smells away. The cupboards are made out of solid beech wood and some matte glass. The threshold is made out of the same granite as the top.
There is a round ceramic basin with a mixing tap and a
separate little tap for the pure drinking water ( an extra filter for drinking water is installed under the sink).
The kitchen has a ceramic hob, a dishwasher and a fridge/freezer.
The bathroom in the main house has a bath, an open round shower with hard stone floor, a toilet, bidet and a double ceramic wash basin with granite top and wooden cupboards. There is another wooden cupboard, the upper part designated for the boiler. A vertical row of glass tiles
provides a playful light.
The bathroom in the guest house consists of a spacious shower cubicle, a toilet and a wash basin.
Obviously we highly recommend the outside shower!
Pool / Garden
The natural pond has ca 150m2. It exists of two parts, a separate space for swimming of ca 50m2 without plants, whilst the remaining part is designated for plants. The pond was build by Bio Piscina, a company specialized in natural pools. There are fixed steps to get in and out of the water and a jetty at the house side. Besides a spectacular fresh and clean pool without chlorine and other chemicals it is a lovely site to sit
and watch. The pond is surrounded by a gravel path and garden.
The garden surrounds the house and continues in a natural way into the surroundings. An irrigation system provides the watering of plants and trees. The garden is a combination of flowers, plants and trees. There are some hundreds of years old olive trees, but also almond trees, carob trees, cork oak, figs to be picked from the terrace, palm trees, orange and lemon trees, medronheira, pomegranate, nespera and many
other trees and bushes.
Utility / Storage room
The utility/storage room is part of the guest house. Here are situated the washing machine, the tumble dryer and a freezer. The boiler for the guest house is also installed here, as well as a storage rack. The entrance to the storage room is fully separated from the guest house and faces the parking area.
There are spacious terraces around the house and the pool,
partly out of Santa Catarina tiles and partly terra-cotta coloured gravel. The main terrace has a pergola for permanent shade.
A delicious outside shower with warm and cold water is located in the corner of the terrace.
The spacious parking is close to the house and yet out of sight.
Behind the house is situated a ruin of an old stable, originally part of the farm that was once here. A wonderful place for children to play.
Next to the pool there is a table made out of an old olive
-press weighing hundreds of kilos.
